Dong Thap is my hometown, it’s a province belong to MeKong Delta. Usually, it takes me about 3-4 hours to get home. First, from the center of HCM city I take a bus from my place to Mien Tay Coach Station in Binh Tan District, then bought a "Phuong Trang" ticket at the ticket counter. Next I went to the waiting room to wait to get in the coach. I usually arrive at the station 15 minutes before the time the coach departs, to run to check the information about the trip. You should pay attention to check on the destination, time of departure, vehicle number, license plate number. Because there are so many vehicles, you may easily step into the wrong coach. Just be careful! If you have any problem, do talk to the Phuong Trang’ staffs who normally are in the orange uniform. Simply show them your ticket, they can easily take you to your coach. After about 2 hours of driving, the car will stop for 20 minutes at the Phuong Trang rest stop in Cai Be, Tien Giang province, to rest and eat. The time is short not enough to order hot food, instead you should choose fast food to eat. It is quite an ideal place that you can buy local food, souvenirs of the Mekong Delta. If you are interesting to know more about food / souvenirs locally to buy here, just follow us in our next post.

Coaches are running smoothly while you are sitting on the car and watching the peaceful scene of the countryside and the rivers. Occasionally, you can listen to country music during the trip. When you wake up and open your eyes, you will see a beautiful Mekong area waiting for you to explore.
