Are you worry about communicating to Vietnamese? Most of them cannot understand what you are saying? No worries, here are some helpful Vietnamese phrases:
FOR GREETING
Hello: “Xin chào!” or “Chào’ (pronounced the same as Italian ‘Ciao')
Goodbye: "Tạm Biệt" /taem biet/. However, most of Vietnamese always say "bye", we use it frequently in daily communication between friends as a goodbye routine.
THANK YOU AND SORRY
Thank you: “Cảm ơn” /'kam ern/
Sorry: “Xin lỗi”
If you want to thanks or apologize so much, just add: "nhiều" after that.
GETTING HELP
In case any things bad happen like get roped or get lost, you want to say: “Giúp tôi với!” /'j^p toy 'veri/. It is Please help me in English.
ASKING FOR THE COST
When you traveling in Vietnam, it's better to ask for the price in advance even you want to buy a ticket or to have lunch at a restaurant. To ask for it, please say "bao nhiêu tiền?" which mean How much is it?
ASK FOR DIRECTION
All the streets in Vietnam is quite complicated to find, so that we prefer you to prepare a local map in hand. Or not, you can ask local people, they are willing to help you any time. Just say “Tôi muốn đi đến…” /toy 'mun di 'then.../. It means I want to go to…
